PUR foaming can be used
to manufacture both homogeneous foam parts and
thermoformed parts, combined with foam. It can be
used to backfoam single-sheet thermoformed skins or
to fill twin-sheet parts so that these parts can be
supplied with this production step already completed.
Thermoformed parts enhanced with PUR foam are
distinguished by good thermal and acoustic
insulation characteristics. Moreover, the stability
of a deep drawn part can be increased considerably
with relatively little addition of weight.
Attachment points, anchoring aids or the attachment
of functional elements can be integrated in the
production process.
PUR foaming systems can be filled with mineral and
glass fibres on modern hybrid machinery. These parts,
manufactured with the RRIM process, are even more
durable and thermally stable.
